Author Event - Ben Curtis/Love Thy Neighbor
https://islandbooks.com/event/2026-10-13/author-event-ben-curtislove-thy-neighbor
Join us as we welcome local author Ben Curtis to Island Books featuring his book Love They Neighbor: The Story of Operation Nightwatch on the Streets of Seattle. Ben Curtis introduces us to this Seattle based nonprofit and the historic journey of their work - beginning with Rev. Bud Palmberg, who was a beloved minister on Mercer Island. Expect to have your heart moved with compassion for those who are living on the margins of our society.
Ben will be in conversation with Deacon Frank DiGirolamo, Executive Director of Operation Nightwatch.
The event begins at 6:30pm. Books will be available for sale that evening. All are welcome.
Book Launch
Join us to celebrate the launch of "Love Thy Neighbor: The Story of Operation Nightwatch on the Streets of Seattle" by Ben Curtis. Doors open at 1:00 p.m. Program start at 1:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

Greet Ben, enjoy lunch, a book reading and lively panel discussion – with current street ministers – including Michael Cox, Sharon Hamill and Rick Reynolds!
This is a community gathering for friends of Nightwatch, not a fundraiser. Hope to see you!
No charge to attend, but registration by July 17 is required.
